Our story

Dating apps ask you to perform. Your dog just shows up.

Dog Lovers started from a simple observation: the best conversations at the dog park were already happening β€” between people whose dogs had decided to be best friends. We built the app that gets out of the way of that moment.

The dog is the proxy. The park is the meetup.

Traditional dating apps front-load everything people are anxious about: the perfect photo, the impressive job, the opening line. A dog profile inverts all of it. Your dog is a low-stakes, aspirational stand-in for you β€” playful, honest, and impossible to catfish with.

And when it works, the first meeting is not an awkward coffee across a small table. It is the dog park you already walk, at the hour you already go, with a built-in conversation starter and a graceful exit if the vibe is off. Worst case: your dog had a great afternoon.

We launched in San Francisco with fifteen mapped and rated parks, proving one home-park community at a time. Deliberately small, deliberately local β€” because a dating app is only as good as the park five minutes from your door.

Four rules we do not break

πŸ•

Dog-first, always

The primary photo is the dog β€” enforced by on-device detection and human review, not just a suggestion in the settings. Owners appear secondarily, only if they want to.

🌳

The park is the third entity

Home parks, Singles Ratings, geofenced check-ins, events, and badges make the place itself a community. You are joining a park, not just a feed.

Compatibility over volume

Play style, energy, and personality do the homework up front. We would rather show you five great matches near your park than five hundred maybes.

πŸ™ˆ

Privacy is the hook

No owner photo required. No job title, income, or height fields. The dog profile is a low-stakes, honest proxy β€” two compatible dogs usually mean two compatible owners.
