Safety Center

Dog Lovers is designed to end in a real meeting at a real park. That only works if the meeting feels safe โ€” so safety is built into the product mechanics, not bolted onto a settings page.

How the product protects you

๐Ÿค–

Every photo is dog-checked

An on-device detection model verifies the primary photo actually contains a dog before it can publish. The check fails closed: on any error or uncertainty, the photo waits for a human instead of going live.

๐Ÿ‘€

Humans review the edge cases

Uncertain and flagged photos enter a moderation queue reviewed by people. A moderator decision is final โ€” a delayed or forged client signal cannot override it.

๐Ÿ”’

Private photos, signed reads

Photo storage is private. Images are served through short-lived signed URLs, and rejected photos have their underlying bytes purged โ€” not merely hidden.

๐Ÿ”—

Early-match link guard

Links are blocked in early-match chat, cutting off the most common off-platform scam path before trust exists.

๐Ÿšฆ

Block, mute, report โ€” everywhere

Every profile and conversation carries block, mute, and report controls. Blocking severes matches immediately; reports go to a staffed queue with suspension powers.

๐Ÿงน

Erasure that actually erases

Account deletion is a prepared, verifiable purge: storage objects are emptied and confirmed gone before the account record is removed. You can resume an interrupted deletion instead of being stranded half-deleted.

Five habits for a great first meet

  1. 1

Meet at the park, in daylight

First meetings belong at a public dog park during busy hours โ€” that is the whole design. Skip secluded trails and home visits until you genuinely know someone.

  2. 2

    Tell a friend the plan

Share where you are going and when you expect to be back. Playdates can be shared like a calendar invite โ€” use that.

  3. 3

    Keep the exit graceful

A dog walk ends whenever the dog is tired. If anything feels off, leash up and head out โ€” no explanation owed, in person or in chat.

  4. 4

Trust the dog, verify the human

Keep conversation in the app early on, be wary of anyone rushing you off-platform or asking for money, and report pressure tactics. Our link guard helps; your instincts finish the job.

  5. 5

    Dog safety counts too

Watch body language on both ends of the leash, bring water, and let shy dogs set the pace. A good match for the humans still needs to work for the dogs.

The house rules

  • Be the person your dog thinks you are: kind, honest, and as-advertised.
  • Photos must be your own dog. The primary photo is always the dog โ€” no exceptions, no stock pups.
  • No harassment, hate, or unsolicited anything. A no (or a non-reply) is complete and final.
  • No soliciting, scams, or off-platform funnels. Early-match links are blocked for a reason.
  • Adults only. Every account is age-gated; dogs of all ages remain welcome.
  • Report what you see. Moderators can warn, suspend, and remove โ€” and reports are how they know.

The full legal text lives in our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. If someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first โ€” then report in-app so we can act on the account.
